Dear Class Officer:

Re: Prospect Technologies’ support of Princeton's Classes

Prospect Technologies is very enthusiastic about the opportunity to add value to your Princeton Class Web site. As you may already know, our firm has worked successfully with the Classes of '69, ’70, '71, and '80 as well as the Alumni Friends of Princeton ROTC and the Princeton Club of New York to accomplish similar objectives.

We understand that your immediate objectives are to:

1) Develop a Reunion Web site with the following functions:

  • Reunion General Registration;
  • Housing Registration with cutoff when full;
  • Items for sale;
  • Online credit card payments to be deposited in your bank; and
  • Surveys with answers displayed.

2) Compile an online Yearbook database with:

  • Photo, essay, and personal information upload functionality;
  • Publishing functionality; and
  • Export capability.

3) Enhance the Class Web site functionality and maintenance with:

  • Hosting;
  • User login infrastructure;
  • Survey feature;
  • Yearbook;
  • Online dues payment;
  • Non-programmers ability to add / change content; and
  • Usage reports.

Prospect Technologies understands that there is a desire on both of our parts that the methodology used to develop this Web site will be flexible enough to allow for subsequent modifications and additions. We have numerous examples that can provide you with the firm’s development architecture and infrastructure to meet your needs and objectives.

As an example, please find below some Princeton related and other references and links to similar – large and small! -- Web site development projects. For ease in reference these requirments and thoughts will be grouped into three- (3) separate categories.

Ideas / Examples / References on how Prospect Technologies can develop the Reunion Web functionality:

  • Online Registration: The Princeton Class of 1969 wanted to have a simple, easy to use online Reunions registration form for their 35th Reunion in May of 2004.

  • An online store: ProNetCD, a successful reseller of software and networking products employs a Prospect Technologies’ designed, created, and hosted Web site to satisfy its customers making purchases from its fast moving and ever expanding product line.

  • Sign-up online: In the *NEW* Woodrow Wilson house Web site you will be able to register and schedule a tour of the museum in Washington, DC.

  • The Princeton Club of New York wanted to be able to have members register for events, rooms, squash lessons, and even a haircut … online!

  • Prospect Technologies' designed and support credit card utilities allow the Classes of ’69, ’70, and ’71 to pay dues online.

  • Payment and secure information transfer utilities have been developed for such entities as the Washington, DC based US Chamber of Commerce, The Department of Homeland Security, the US Coast Guard, and the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).

  • Prospect Technologies helps Baring ING / Baring American Partners better display information / graphical data on their customers and portfolio.

  • The firm supports the The Class of 1980 Class Survey and Poll.

  • Voting and verification: The Princeton Class of 2000 wanted to be able to verify e-mail addresses as well as have their Class vote on the upcoming theme for their 5th Reunion in May 2005.

    CLICK HERE for PawPrints! To ensure a ‘one vote per class member’ posture, a special easy-to-use verification system will be employed. Class members will be required to verify themselves against an online, updateable database that will form the basis for all of the upcoming communications. Once this is accomplished, his or her 'vote' will be counted to ensure that each Class member records only one vote.

  • The Class of 1980 Web Blog – Over the past several years, Prospect Technologies has created, developed, supported, and hosted the ’80 Blog entitled ‘Flight of the Orange Fancy. This Web site and ‘Blog’ effort was nominated for the Princeton Alumni Council’s prestigious ACE award for communications excellence. An excerpt from the Class President’s letter highlighted the functionality that Prospect Technologies built for the Class of 1980 is highlighted below:

      “An innovative feature of the new website is “Flight of Orange Fancy,” a “weblog” with links to personal websites of class members, articles classmates have written, or articles about classmates. Weblogs are the latest innovation in web content development. In February and March alone, the weblog reported on several classmates, including Greg Mankiw, nominated as the new chairman of the Council of Economic Advisors, and Richard Greenberg, author of the Broadway Hit “Take Me Out.” The content management system developed by Prospect Technologies allows the Webmaster to post commentary and links to news articles as soon as they appear on the Internet (e.g., the New York Times).”

  • CLICK HERE to see ... Prospect Technologies’ designers and Webmasters will develop for the Class your own information and photo upload utility. This will be based upon the firm’s extensive experience w/ document, information, and photo publishing that have been used for several applications including, for example, the Princeton Class of 1980 Web Blog, Prospect Technologies’ own digital Document management systemDIGIDOQlite – as well as an online publishing utility to support Mitch Daniels ’71 run for Governor of Indiana. When fully developed and implemented, each classmate will have the ability to upload, display and edit the photos and the informational text. A variant on this can be seen in a e-mail address utility entitled PawPrints by the Class of 2000.

    The PawPrints page demonstrates one of many ways we might verify e-mail and other information. Once a Class of ’90 member arrives at this URL, he / she will be requested to enter their full name and address for verification. This information, along w/ the ‘preferred’ e-mail address, will be uploaded into an online, interactive database. The process of collection and verification will be based upon a mutual decision on the most efficient and cost-effective e-mail verification scenario.

    While it is possible for the Class of 1990 to publish this information in hardcopy, Prospect Technologies is assuming that the Class seeks to ‘publish’ the information on its members online or via CDs.
